400年以上もの歴史を誇る、波佐見焼の陶磁器

長崎県のほぼ中央に位置する波佐見町。

モダンでおしゃれなデザインと、子どもから大人まで誰もが親しみやすいやすい強さを持つ陶磁器として人気の「波佐見焼」の産地として知られています。

人口15,000人ほどの小さな町で高品質な陶磁器を作り続けられる秘密は、「町全体が工場」と例えられるほどの分業制。

陶磁器の型を作る「型屋」、型から生地を作る「生地屋」、陶土を作る「陶土屋」、生地を焼いて商品に仕上げる「窯元」、絵柄を描く「上絵屋」、そして、注文をまとめ手配する「問屋」など、それぞれのプロフェッショナルが分業することで、町全体でひとつの製品を生み出しています。

テキスタイルのモチーフを器に

もともとアパレル業界で働いていたスタッフが企画したというaiyuのORIMEは、400年もの間続く波佐見焼の伝統とテキスタイルデザインが出会い生まれたシリーズ。

「鹿の子」は、ニット生地などに用いられる編み地のことで、その名の通り鹿の子どもに見られる白い斑点模様のあしらいがかわいらしいデザイン。

綾織物の一つとして知られる「ヘリンボーン」は、ざっくりとした編み目模様がシックでおしゃれ。

どちらも布の素材感を表現するため、ムラも風合いとして活かして作られています。

カラーは、ホワイトとブラウンからお選びいただけますよ。

高台つきで持ちやすい、ぽったりとした子丼

「こどん」は、女性の手にもすっぽりと収まる小さめサイズ（W10.5×D10.5×H7.9 ）の丼。

深さがあるので、お茶碗としてはもちろん、お味噌汁やスープなどの器として、そば猪口のように麺つゆを入れたり、幅広い用途でお使いいただけます。

高台が付いているので、持ちやすく、ほかほかのご飯をよそっても熱くならないやさしいつくりです。
