四万十産の高品質ヒノキを使用

手つかずの大自然が残されていることから、「日本最後の清流」とも呼ばれる四万十川。

四万十川の流域には広大なヒノキの森が広がっていて、そこで採れる高品質で耐久性の高いヒノキは、古くから神社仏閣や日本の重要文化財の建材として使われてきました。

近年では「四万十ヒノキ」としてブランド化され、あたたかみのある美しい色合いと清涼感のある爽やかな香りで親しまれています。

3wayで使える、折りたたみスツール

「四万十ヒノキ折りたたみスツール」は、「四万十ヒノキ」を贅沢に使用したスツール。

37.5cmという絶妙な高さで作られていて、スツールとしてだけでなく、テーブルとして、足置きとして、3wayで使うことができます。

座面部分がドラマチックに開閉し、畳めばコンパクトな形に収まるので、使用しない時はちょっとした隙間にしまっておくことも。

畳んだ時に持ち手になるようにと、座面下にも巧みな工夫が施されています。

特に製作を担う大工さんは、少し年齢を重ねた大工さんに作ってもらうことにこだわり作られています。
それは、建築の仕事が体力的に厳しくなってくる大工さんのセカンドキャリアにしてほしいという想いから。
